Purpose
The Liturgy Committee is a group of parishioners who meet to study, prepare, assign, orchestrate and evaluate all components of the weekly Liturgy. Although the nucleus of this committee is relatively small, it relies on the commitment of hundreds of dedicated volunteers working together to provide a smoothly flowing, meaningful experience through each of the litrugical seasons. Subcommittees under the guidance of the Liturgy Committee include the Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, Ushers, Lectors, Servers, Gift Bearers, Musicians, Sacristans and Environment. The Committee is blessed with members who also serve on the Pastoral Council and can carry our requests to the Council. The remainder of the committee consists of parishioners who have a love for the liturgy, a scrutinizing eye for evaluation, an ability to communicate, and the willingness to serve.
Ministry Opportunities
To carry out our mission, witness to our values, and fulfill our vision, we need you and invite your response to the Call to Serve. We always need more people to serve as Eucharisitic Ministers, Ushers, Greeters, Lectors, Musicians, Gift Bearers, Servers or Decorators. Is God calling you to use your gifts in this way? You are encouraged to choose a ministry for yourself or you can do together as a family. You can express your commitment by completing and submitting our online Ministers At Mass form or by completing a form located on the Liturgical Bulletin Board in the Gathering Space of the Church.
Training and answers to any of your questions is always provided. For questions, contact the parish office at 319-233-6179 or email bscsec650@gmail,com.
